Is innovation key to economic growth? The answer is yes if most of the executives in the world are to be believed. Innovation helps organizations surviving, marching ahead, beating competition and writing new rules. Innovation is not a tool itself but creates tools to explore new realities. According to a survey conducted by the Bloomberg/Business Week/Boston Consulting Group (BCG), 72% of companies see innovation as a "top three" strategic priority, and 61% of respondents are planning to increase the amount they spend on innovation. The annual survey report has also come up with the list of 50 most innovative companies in the world.

The hardware major Apple from USA which also deals in consumer electronics, computer software, and personal computers is the most innovative companies in the world. The company is best known for its iPhone and recently launched iPad.


2. Google


The king of Internet is no. 2 in the list of most innovative companies. Apart from the search, Google also owns many other popular products such as, Blogger, YouTube and AdSense.


3. Microsoft


Microsoft is best known for simplifying the usage of computer. Its windows operating systems and Office are still the most widely used software in the world.


4. IBM


IBM is the world's biggest technology company and the second most valuable by global brand. This computer, technology and IT consulting corporation has its head-quarter in Armonk, North Castle, New York.


5. Toyota Motor


Toyota Motor is one of the most admired auto companies in the world. Its cars are the best selling in America and Europe.


6. Amazon.com


Amazon has an amazing success story. Amazon started as an online bookstore, but soon broadened its spectrum to product lines of VHS, DVD, music CDs and MP3s, computer software, video games, electronics, apparel, furniture, food, toys, and so on.


7. LG Electronics


LG Electronics with headquarter in Seoul; South Korea is one of the largest manufacturer and seller of electronic products. It is the world's second-largest manufacturer of televisions and third largest producer of mobile phones.

BYD Auto is a Chinese automobile manufacturer based in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province and is the first time entry in the prestigious list.


9. General Electric (GE)


GE is one of the largest companies in the world and operates in various fields, such as include GE Capital (including GE Commercial Finance and GE Money and GE Consumer Finance), GE Technology Infrastructure (including GE Aviation, the former Smiths Aerospace and GE Healthcare), GE Energy Infrastructure (including GE Energy Financial Services), GE Fanuc Intelligent Platforms and NBC Universal, an entertainment company.


10. Sony


Japanese company Sony is one of the leading manufacturers of electronics, video, communications, video game consoles, and information technology products for the consumer and professional markets.
